The World’s Largest Penis Size Database

If you’re looking for the definitive answer as to what constitutes average penis size, new results released by Condomania, may help to solve this age old enigma.

Established over 20 years ago, the condom superstore has been quietly gathering measurement statistics since 2004 – and has amassed a database of over 27000 penis size measurements from men from over 70 countries.

The statistics were gathered following the release of their TheyFit condom range – a made to measure range of 76 custom condom sizes, which requires customers to provide precise penile measurements to the millimetre in order to get the perfect fit. Following six years of offering this tailored-fit condom service – Condomania claim to hold the world’s largest and most accurate penis size database.

So what have the number crunching boffins at Condomania concluded from the world’s largest penis size database? Well unfortunately, one thing they haven’t done is revealed a magic figure – so there’s no “the average penis size is…x.xx inches”

What they do state is that 25 percent of men have an erect penis length of less than 5 inches, 50 percent of men fall within the 5 – 6 inch length range and the other 25 percent measure over 6 inches in length. So in other words, according to Condomania’s findings anywhere between 5 and 6 inches is pretty much average.

Interestingly, instead of giving a definitive answer to average penis size, Condomania have also gone to the painstaking effort of ranking average penis size by both U.S. state and by the 20 most populated U.S. cities. Their conclusions?

Men living in New Hampshire have on average the biggest dicks in the U.S., whilst those in Wyoming have the smallest. As far as cities are concerned, it seems that the South comes up trumps with New Orleans taking the prize for biggest dicks by city, whilst those in Dallas are positively tiny in comparison.

These statistics might be useful if you live in New Orleans or the state of New Hampshire and you measure less than 5 inches in length – it may be worth relocating to Dallas or Wyoming. But apart from the novelty factor, a break down of biggest / smallest by state / city seems pretty much irrelevant. But if you’re curious to see Condomania’s national rankings of penis size anyway, here’s the link.

Previously, the largest study into penis size was conducted by the Kinsey Institute way back in 1948. Using data collected from 3500 men, Kinsey’s analysis put the magic number for average erect penis length at 6.21 inches – slightly more than the 5 – 6 inches stated by Condomania. But as Condomania’s director of Technology, Chris Filkins points out, Kinsey’s study involved self-measurement simply for the purpose of recording penis size, and the accuracy of those measurements is questionable due to the tendency of men to exaggerate their measurements. Condomania’s results on the other hand were provided by men as a means of getting the best possible condom fit – which obviously makes them far less likely to exaggerate.

In fact, other recent scientific research into penis size does suggest that Kinsey might have been slightly off the mark. In 2001 Lifestyles condoms used medical staff to accurately record the penile measurements of 301 men – recording an average penis length of 5.9 inches. Although the Lifestyles study was relatively small, there’s no questioning the accuracy of the gathered data. Combined with these new results from Condomania, average really does seem to be anywhere between 5 – 6 inches.
